A New Hope?: Lucasfilm Board of Directors

A Crisis Committee
About the Committee

The year is 2012, and George Lucas has just finished signing one of the biggest deals in cinema history. Lucasfilm has officially been acquired by Disney. This comes with Lucasfilm’s smaller projects, the Indiana Jones franchise, and of course, Star Wars. The next few years will be defining for the history of both this company, and all of these franchises, and the task has been placed on you, delegates, to oversee this transition, create new projects, and bring Lucasfilm into the modern age. Star Wars itself stands at an incredibly tense period. The recent prequel trilogy was less than well received, with many older fans claiming that star wars is dead. However, it did spawn a new age of younger fans, once again enthralled by the wonder that star wars offers, and now those kids are starting to grow up. The question is, what happens next in this galaxy, far far away?

About the Director

Raghav Sharma (he/him) is a sophomore physics student at the University of Florida. Originally from the Chicagoland area, Raghav joined his high school's Model UN team in his freshman year and instantly fell in love. Since then he’s stuck with it, and is now entering his sixth year with the organization. Raghav serves as the Director of Recruitment and retention for UF’s Model UN team, as well as directing a committee for both GatorMUN (UF’s high school conference) and SunMUN. Raghav loves the creative solutions that MUN allows delegates to come up with. Outside of MUN, Raghav loves listening to music and collecting vinyls. This passion motivated him to join Swamp Records, an organization at UF dedicated to promoting local artists. In his free time, he loves watching sitcoms and horror movies, along with trying (and failing) to kickflip. He’s also a huge fan of Star Wars, with his favorite movie of all time being Empire Strikes Back, and his favorite show being Andor. He looks forward to seeing you all in committee!
